Sandustry Builds: A Source-Based Factory Progression
Reliable builds separate input, processing, and output lanes, then expand only after each module runs without clogging. The collected factory footage progresses from Wet Sand and Gold to recycling, Planter Boxes, Amethelis, Voidbloom, and Fluxite.
Build a modular starter Gold line
Begin with a Water-fed wetting area, Launchers that deliver Wet Sand, and Shakers with Collectors below. Route Gold toward storage or research and Residue toward a separate lane. This separation is the repeated foundation in the collected progression footage.
Do not stack more Shakers until the existing output remains clear under continuous input. A compact stack can look efficient while hiding material that lands on another machine’s output. Leave enough access to inspect and replace filters as the recipe chain expands.
Add Residue recycling as its own module
Burn the Shaker byproduct before sending it to a Kinetic Press. Drop the processed solid onto the green top, filter the input, and clear the mixed output below. A return route can lift material that misses and try the drop again.
Throttle clumps before the Press rather than allowing them to bury its processing surface. The collected factory build uses repeated processing sections only after the first path is proven. Expansion should increase actual cleared throughput, not the size of a blocked pile.
Separate the Planter Box chain
Dry Seeds must contact Water to become Wet Seeds before they reach a Planter Box. Wet Seeds remain suspended in Water, so the wetting chamber needs a deliberate exit instead of relying on simple sinking. Enclose the growth area and keep a clean lane beneath the Planter Boxes.
Allow Flowers to mature before applying fire to the head. Manual Flamethrower use is suitable for testing, while Thermal Buffers and a Pyro Dispenser appear in the collected automation approach. Keep Gold and Amethelis outputs moving so the next harvest has somewhere to land.
Build toward Voidbloom and Fluxite
Amethelis from the planter chain supports later production, while Redsand and plant-derived material lead into Voidbloom in the collected progression. Feed Voidbloom to the top of a Flux Emanator. Leave a controlled chamber beneath because the resulting Fluxite grows outward along available surfaces.
Harvest Fluxite before the mass fills its enclosure or begins to affect performance. A larger ball is not automatically a better buffer when it blocks new placement and makes collection harder. Route valuable intermediate materials separately so one shortage can be diagnosed.
Apply repeatable build principles
Community showcases include extremely compact Shaker arrangements and larger modular factories. Their useful lesson is not a single universal shape but careful control of fall paths, filters, and cleared outputs. Give every module a named input, a visible process, and a controlled output. Keep fluids in isolated networks, gases in sealed chambers, and temperature sources away from materials that should not change state. Copy only the smallest section that has already survived continuous testing.
Progression footage shows that most failures are logistical rather than recipe mysteries. Materials miss a surface, back up over an output, mix at a filter, or enter the wrong state. Designing access for observation and repair is therefore part of an efficient build.
