Sandustry Kinetic Press Setup and Troubleshooting
Feed only Burnt Slag onto the green top of the Kinetic Press and keep its Gold and Spore outputs clear. Throttle large clumps, filter the incoming stream, and recycle material that misses.
Prepare the correct input
The collected Kinetic Press footage describes processing Burnt Slag, using terminology from that build, into Gold and Spores. Other current beginner material refers to the Shaker byproduct as Residue and its processed plant output as Seeds. Treat the names as version-specific and confirm the item shown by the current game.
Regardless of naming, the source requires the burned Shaker byproduct rather than the raw mixed stream. Filter the input before it reaches the Press. Sand, Gold, and unrelated solids should not share the final drop lane.
Drop material onto the green top
The Press activates when the prepared solid falls onto its green upper surface. Give the Launcher enough clear vertical or diagonal space for the material to land accurately. A belt passing beside the building does not substitute for the required contact.
Feed a small batch first and watch the complete fall. Large clumps can collide, stack, or land on existing output. If the path is inconsistent, correct the Launcher position and surrounding clearance before raising throughput.
Clear both outputs
Gold and the plant-related output must leave the area beneath the Press. Their physical behavior can help separation, but filters provide a more explicit route. Give each output storage or a downstream consumer that does not immediately back up.
When output accumulates above or around the machine, the next input can land on the pile rather than the Press. This looks like a recipe failure even though the actual problem is blocked clearance. Stop the feed and remove the obstruction before changing the machine.
Recycle material that misses
Use Conveyors and diagonal or vertical Launchers to return unprocessed material to the top. The loop should select only the correct input so finished Gold and Spores do not circulate indefinitely. Add a visible inspection point or buffer before the second drop.
A recycling loop can also conceal a bad aim by moving the same material forever. Confirm that each pass has a real chance to contact the processing surface. If the return buffer grows, lower the feed rate and correct the geometry.
Diagnose Press jams
First stop incoming material. Clear output from below, remove piles above, and verify that the green surface is exposed. Then release one filtered item and trace it through the drop, process, and output path.
If one Press works but multiple Presses fail, inspect the splitter and the landing lanes rather than adding another machine. The collected build footage scales only after a stable module exists. More processing surfaces cannot compensate for an output belt that is already full.
Keep terminology differences in mind when comparing older videos with the current interface. Use the current material tooltip to identify the burned byproduct and resulting plant item. This page does not invent a fixed fall height or throughput value because the collected sources do not establish one.
