Sandustry Planter Box Setup for a Stable Flower Farm
Wet each Seed with Water, guide the Wet Seed onto a Planter Box, let the Flower mature, and burn the mature head to harvest its output. Enclose both working areas, then clear the output lane before continuous automation.
Build the core setup
The chain starts with a dry Seed contacting Water to become a Wet Seed. Deliver that Wet Seed onto a Planter Box, wait for a Flower to grow and mature, then burn the mature head. Create separate areas for wetting, growing, heating, and collecting so each failure is visible.
The collected machine description says the Planter Box permits solid Gold and Amethelis to pass through it. Liquids and gases are not blocked in the same way, while the player is blocked. Keep the space below clear to receive the solid harvest outputs.
Control the Wet Seed chamber
Wet Seeds have the same listed density as Water and remain suspended rather than sinking predictably. A sealed chamber with a controlled outlet is more reliable than dropping Seeds into an open pool. Supply Water manually for commissioning or with a Pump, Pipes, and a Liquid Vent.
Community setup notes recommend a small controlled Water volume and a low inlet, but that is an observed layout guideline rather than a universal official measurement. Use a filter to catch dry Seeds that missed Water and another route for Wet Seeds that fail to exit. Seal corners before starting a continuous feed.
Grow and harvest at the right time
Guide the Wet Seed onto the active surface of the Planter Box and protect the growth area from stray materials. The Flower must reach its mature state before fire is applied. Collected gameplay reports do not show a larger reward from waiting beyond maturity.
Burn only the mature head and keep fire away from incoming Seeds. The collected guide reports Gold and Amethelis from a successful harvest, but exact balance values can change between versions. This page does not turn that observation into an unsupported permanent rate.
Automate heat after manual testing
Use the Flamethrower for the first harvests so timing and output paths can be checked directly. The collected automation design later uses Thermal Buffers with a Pyro Dispenser to apply heat. Lava can also provide heat, but it requires isolated containment and introduces more risk than the initial test needs.
Connect automated heat only after Wet Seeds reliably reach every planter and outputs clear below. A timed burner does not fix an immature Flower or a blocked output lane. It can instead destroy material before the underlying logistics are stable.
Diagnose common failures
If a Seed stays dry, check whether it physically contacted settled Water. If a Wet Seed floats without leaving, adjust the chamber outlet rather than increasing the feed. If Flowers burn too early, disable automated heat and return to manual commissioning.
When harvested solids pile up, separate Gold and Amethelis after they leave the boxes. Inspect filters and ensure nothing occupies the tile where the next output must appear. Increase the number of Planter Boxes only after one full batch completes from dry Seed to cleared harvest.
Amethelis is an intermediate for later energy production, while the wider plant chain also supports Voidbloom and Fluxite progression. Preserve a clean output for those downstream uses. A compact farm is valuable only when it produces material that the rest of the factory can actually consume.
