Sandustry Puzzle Solutions for Common Artifact Rooms
For a Frostbed crossing, break the Frostbed so Snow falls into Water and freezes a path; for a dark maze, use the Flashlight and backtrack at dead ends. Burnable barriers require the Flamethrower.
Frostbed and Water solution
When an Artifact is separated by Water and Frostbed is positioned to feed the pool, break the Frostbed. Snow falls into Water and freezes it, creating a solid crossing. Walk over the Ice and reach the Artifact.
Do not search for the exact coordinate shown in another player’s video because generated maps vary. The solution is the material interaction: Frostbed releases Snow, and Snow can turn enough Water into Ice. Ensure the Snow actually reaches the Water before removing additional blocks.
If no Ice forms, inspect the remaining Water volume. The official Water notes say a small amount can disappear when Snow is added instead of creating useful Ice. Reset the approach around the available material rather than inventing an unrelated mechanism.
Dark maze solution
Equip the Flashlight before entering a deliberately dark branching room. Choose a branch, follow it until it ends, and backtrack to the last junction when necessary. This method prevents repeated wandering through the same passage.
Avoid mining the maze walls as the first response. The darkness and branching layout are the intended challenge, and breaking the structure can remove navigation landmarks. Once the Artifact is reached, claim it and confirm the reward notification.
Burnable entrance solution
A deliberately placed barrier that responds to heat should be tested with the Flamethrower. Apply fire to the obstacle and observe whether its state changes or the passage opens. Keep unrelated flammable material away from the test area.
Passive heat should not automatically be treated as equivalent to a direct tool interaction. The collected puzzle guidance emphasizes using the tool suggested by the room. If fire has no effect, stop before damaging the wider structure and consider whether another unlock is required.
Tool-gated Artifact rooms
Some rooms appear before the required tool has been researched. If the visible materials and every available interaction produce no response, mark the room and continue progression. Returning later is a valid solution path, not a failure.
Useful puzzle tools and abilities arrive through research and Fluxite upgrades. The collected beginner guide specifically warns that puzzles can be tool-gated. Do not substitute a fabricated sequence or assume every Artifact can be reached immediately.
Verify the solution and reward
Open access is only the first part of completion. Interact with the Artifact and check that an Augment or progression reward was recorded. If the room is empty afterward but no reward appeared, verify the interaction before leaving.
Specific videos record individual rewards such as movement or utility improvements, but their order is not proven universal. This guide avoids assigning a fixed reward to a room shape without official confirmation. Use the in-game result in the current save as the authoritative outcome.
Across all common rooms, the consistent method is to read geometry, identify the unusual material, match it to a researched tool, and preserve the intended structure while testing. Generated locations differ, but those mechanical clues remain useful. That is more reliable than following coordinates from a different map seed.
